Park & Sun Sports is a Colorado-based manufacturer of outdoor sports equipment, best known for designing and building portable volleyball systems used in backyards, parks, schools, clubs, and tournament environments worldwide.
Founded on Listening and Real Need
The company was founded in 1984, beginning in a garage in Morrison, Colorado, just minutes from Red Rocks. What started as a simple response to a local need quickly grew into something larger. Early on, Park & Sun Sports focused on listening, paying close attention to how people actually played volleyball outdoors and what tournament directors, organizers, and players needed from portable equipment.
At the time, existing portable systems were limited in both performance and usability. Park & Sun Sports approached the problem differently, developing equipment that prioritized portability, durability, and consistent on-court performance.
Built Alongside the Growth of the Game
As grassroots volleyball grew, Park & Sun Sports equipment evolved alongside it, shaped by feedback from players, event organizers, and competitive environments rather than trends or shortcuts. Systems were refined through real use, repeated setup, and the demands of outdoor play across a wide range of conditions.
As demand expanded beyond local production capabilities, Park & Sun Sports adapted, working with trusted suppliers while maintaining control over design, materials, and product standards. The rise of e-commerce further expanded the brand’s reach, allowing Park & Sun Sports to support players, clubs, and organizations across the United States and internationally, while continuing to serve tournaments and communities that helped define the brand in its early years.
